Dr. iur. Alex Elias Uschatz, University of Zurich, Attorney at Law

"As a (long-term) Bitcoin advocate without a technical background, I know all too well the hurdles that non-technical users face when it comes to self-custody. MISC® is the solution I built primarily for my family and myself."
Alex studied law at the University of Zurich (2012–2017), completed internships at courts and renowned Swiss law firms (2018 and 2019), and passed the Zurich bar exam (2020).
Alex first came into contact with Bitcoin at the very beginning of his studies, when a fellow student raved about it to him. However, it took a few more years before he began to grasp the significance of the invention. To combine his career with his fascination, Alex wrote his doctoral dissertation on the taxation of digital assets at the University of Lucerne (2021–2024) .
Alex then spent two years (2024–2026) practicing at a renowned Zurich tax consulting firm, where he established connections into the core of Switzerland's Bitcoin ecosystem. When he discovered MISC® and the role lawyers play in the custody and inheritance of digital assets, he once again saw an opportunity to combine his profession with his passion.
